Lumi Advisors was founded on the belief that every non-profit, regardless of its size or sector, should have access to expert fundraising and development advice. With decades of combined experience in the field, our team has successfully guided numerous organizations in meeting and exceeding their fundraising goals.

Jeremy Weinstein
President
Jeremy Weinstein (he/him/his) is the Founder and President at Lumi Advisors. Jeremy has spent more than 20 years in development and fundraising with expertise in development planning, large grant and major gift solicitation, donor and institutional stewardship, and nonprofit board advancement. To date, he has successfully secured, managed, or oversaw more than $170 million in private and government funding. Jeremy possesses a strong foundation as a strategic planner and leader, capable of executing a wide breadth of requests for philanthropic support while fostering meaningful donor relationships.

Notably, Jeremy led all of KCRW’s development efforts during his four-year tenure as Head of Development, where he created a strategy that increased the development revenue by more than 400%. In addition to his role on the senior leadership team, Jeremy was the chief liaison to the Board of Directors. Before coming to Los Angeles, he worked in the Bloomberg administration for the Fund for Public Schools at the New York City Department of Education..
Before founding Lumi Advisors, Jeremy built a career leading and creating long-term fundraising strategies within nonprofit organizations to dramatically increase their revenue. In addition, Jeremy has consulted for many nonprofits helping them enhance and build more sustainable development departments resulting in significantly improved fundraising efforts. Through his professional and personal community involvement activities in Los Angeles, New York City, and nationwide, he has built strong relationships in the public and private sectors.

He graduated with a B.A. in Government and Law from Lafayette College and received an M.A. in Nonprofit Management from The New School. He currently lives in the Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles, with his partner, David, and their goldendoodle, Balthazar.
Adam Crowley
Senior Vice President, Client Engagement
Adam Crowley(he/him/his) is the Senior Vice President,Client Engagement. In his role at Lumi Advisors, Adam is responsible for working directly with our clients and leading efforts in fostering stronger relationships with our clients while spearheading our development and fundraising initiatives.

Adam brings over two decades of dynamic leadership in fundraising and development to Lumi Advisors. With a rich background in higher education, nonprofit, and political fundraising, Adam has spent his career advancing organizational missions, coaching leaders, and building successful teams. Most recently at UCLA School of Law, he led a team of fundraisers and alumni relations professionals that cultivated engaged alumni, raised millions of dollars, and amplified the school's presence in the community.
Prior to his tenure at UCLA Law, Adam served as a development leader for Point Foundation -the national LGBTQ Scholarship Fund, and the University of Colorado Denver’s School of Public Affairs and the College of Architecture and Planning. In addition, Adam spent several years campaigning for political candidates and ballot initiatives in Colorado and New York. He had the honor of serving as deputy finance director for (now US Senator) John Hickenlooper on his first campaign for Governor of Colorado. He has been active both as a staff member and a volunteer on multiple campaigns for LGBTQ equality. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver.
Adam is a volunteer mentor at Point Foundation. In his free time, he enjoys Star Trek, cooking, and traveling the globe. He lives in Studio City with his partner Conrad and their beautiful supermutt Luna.
Amanda Alpert Knight
Director Client Assessment & Advancement
Amanda Alpert Knight (she/her/hers) is the Director, Client Assessment & Advancement at Lumi Advisors, where she partners with our diverse clients to assess needs, help uncover new opportunities, and develop action-oriented strategies.
Amanda is an accomplished nonprofit executive with a track record of assessing and spearheading strategic planning, organizational improvement, and growth initiatives. As the President and chief consultant at Alpert Educational Strategies, she advised various entities, including nonprofits, charter school networks, and organizations, driving sustainable and equitable change. Her expertise extends to cultivating growth and outcomes. With a career spanning over two decades, Amanda has held pivotal roles such as Chief Executive Officer at ASPIRA of Illinois, a community-based nonprofit that operates 4 charter schools and a youth center. Amanda’s commitment to equity and excellence is evident in her diverse work portfolio, which includes Teach for America, leadership roles at Chicago Public Schools and a number of other Chicago nonprofit organizations.
Amanda’s commitment to nonprofits extends to the boardroom and beyond, as evidenced by her community involvement. She has served on various boards and committees, including Sunset Ridge District 29 School Board and the North Shore Board of Directors at Northwestern Settlement in Illinois. Additionally, she volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children, ensuring their best interests are represented in the juvenile court system. A sought-after speaker and panelist, Amanda has shared her expertise at prestigious conferences and institutions nationwide, and in 2024 was nominated as a Visionary of the Year candidate with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Law from Lafayette College. Certified in College Counseling, Education Administration, and Nonprofit Management, Amanda combines her academic background and experience to drive positive change in her work.
Levi Jelks
Executive Assistant
Levi “Lee-Vee” Jelks (he/him/his) has nearly 15 years of experience performing administrative tasks. He is passionate about helping others, and this desire inspired him to become a member of the Lumi Advisors team to help nonprofits better serve their communities. In his role, Levi is responsible for all administrative tasks and directly supports clients by scheduling meetings and acting as a resource throughout the advising process.
Levi graduated from Clayton State University with a B.A. in English and Carnegie Mellon University with an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing. Outside of work, Levi is a theater kid at heart and founded his own small theater group geared towards highlighting queer BIPOC actors, writers, and directors on the stage. He volunteers with Los Angeles-based LGBTQ+ organizations and contributes his time to causes that advance the rights of women and people of color. At the end of the day, Levi likes to see a great play just as much as he likes to read comics, eat sushi, and sometimes binge 90s sitcoms on weekends.
